Rigid Plastics Recycling & Drop-off
You can recycle small rigid plastics such as Number 2 4 and 5 plastic tubs, cups and buckets (and all plastic bottles) the curb, at apartment complexes, or commercial recycling programs, or at the 24-hour recycling drop-off sites

Urban Curbside (Weekly Collection)
Residents within the town limits of Hillsborough, Carrboro, and Chapel Hill (including the portion of Chapel Hill within Durham County) in single-family homes or duplexes qualify for weekly curbside collection of recycling.

Rural Curbside (Every Other Week)
Rural Curbside Recycling Collection is collected every other week on a regular schedule in 100% of the unincorporated areas of Orange County.

Multi-Unit Housing Recycling
Recycling cart sites are located at over 95% of multi-unit housing complexes (apartments, town homes, and condominiums) in Carrboro, Chapel Hill and Hillsborough, and are available to residents 24-hours a day, seven days per week for the collection of single-stream recycling.

Orange County Solid Waste Management operates a recycling collection program and an organics collection program for the commercial sector in Orange County.

Orange County operates four recycling drop-off locations that are free and available to residents and businesses 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
