Orange County shuts down
non-essential services Friday due to Ian

Ian is expected to bring heavy rains and strong winds earlier than previously anticipated. As a result, the county will suspend non-essential services Friday, Sept 30. All virtual and remote services will operate under current conditions.

• Friday's recycling will not be collected. A makeup date will be announced as soon as possible. All Solid Waste services are closed.
• Friday's Movie in the Park of Sonic 2 has been cancelled.
• The National Recovery Month Gathering scheduled for Friday at 11 a.m. at the Freedom House Recovery Center in Chapel Hill has been postponed to Friday, Oct. 7.
