  1. HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH: "Latino Americans" Documentary Series Screening and Celebration - Passmore

    Join us for a screening of the Peabody Award winning documentary series, "Latino Americans." The series chronicles the rich and varied history and experiences of Latinos, who have helped shape North America the last 500+ years. With more than 50 million people, they are largest minority group in the US, yet their contributions have often been overlooked. Discover the role of Latino Americans in shaping American history. A celebration will be held after the final episode on October 15. NOTE: FILMS ARE IN SPANISH WITH ENGLISH SUB-TITLES. Weekly episodes include Foreigners in Their Own Land, Empire of Dreams, War and Peace, The New Latinos, Prejudice and Pride, and Peril and Promise.

  2. Shingles and Pneumonia Vaccines Coming to You - Seymour

    Pharmacy teams from Walgreens and Walmart will conduct two-part immunization clinics: Part 1) *A pre-immunization assessment and registration appointment to answer questions, verify insurance co-pays, if any, and reserve your vaccine; and Part 2) The vaccination clinic. Note: If you do not have the pre-immunization assessment, vaccine will NOT be available for you. Bring the following to your registration appointment: 1) Health Insurance Cards, 2) Primary Care Provider Name & Phone Number, 3) Immunization History, and 4) List of Medications *If you are unable to attend the pre-immunization assessment, please contact the pharmacy team leader to arrange an assessment and register for your vaccine.   3. Art Show - Beauty in Carolina - Panoramas and People Exhibit - Seymour

    Explore Carolina’s landscapes and street photography showing the serenity of nature and the human character of the people who make this area exceptional. Photographer, Steven C Broscious’ colorful images of Jordan Lake, Hanging Rock and other natural settings will calm and sooth you. His edgy street photos in black and white show the unique human dimensions of this place we call home. Steven’s photography collections will be on display from Mon, Oct 1 – Thu, Nov 29. Art opening hostesses will be: Ceresa Clark, Ann Wilkerson, Margaret Mayes and Fung Little with live music by a new artist, Adam Fenton.

    Joan Cecil has been painting since the 70’s and her mixed medium exhibit will feature photography, watercolor, and oil painting.
