Aging

  1. Safety and Medication - Seymour

    June 18, 2019, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Seymour Center

Safely taking prescription drugs can be a challenge for some individuals and a worry for their loved ones. Accessible labeling for prescription drugs such as large print labels or audible labels are becoming more widely available. There are also tips and techniques that can help persons with limited sight identify their medications. Sometimes these resources can be used to help folks with other challenges as well. Please come discuss options on how we can help you feel safe! Instructor: Kim Tyler MSW, Social Worker III, Social Worker for the Blind in Orange and Durham Counties Division of Services for the Blind.

Carl Nordgren has helped thousands of entrepreneurs and creative professionals, scientists and engineers, military leaders and college students be and become their most creative and entrepreneurial selves for nearly 20 years now. Now he wants to help you recover your natural born creative genius. Carl will share with you what he has learned about the aging brain to help you confidently grow your creative capacity and develop your entrepreneurial instincts and behaviors, the most important qualities you have as you make your way in this uncertain world. And you will have an opportunity to share your thoughts about the best ways to help others appreciate how important it is, and how simple it is, for us all to be and become the most creative and entrepreneurial versions of ourselves we can be, in our work and in our daily lives. Participants receive a free electronic version of Nordgren’s book ‘Becoming a Creative Genius (again)’.
