What are TED Talks? TED stands for Technology, Entertainment and Design. TED is owned by a non-profit, non-partisan foundation. Its agenda is to make great ideas accessible and spark conversations. Topics are created and made available for use by TED. Join us as we dive into TED Talks at Passmore in a laidback yet informative environment including a 15 - 30 min video/talk and follow up discussions. The Italian island of Sardinia has more than six times as many centenarians as the mainland and ten times as many as in North America. Why? According to psychologist Susan Pinker, it's not a sunny disposition or a low-fat, gluten-free diet that keeps the islanders healthy -- it's their emphasis on close personal relationships and face-to-face interactions. Learn more about super longevity as Pinker explains what it takes to live to 100 and beyond. Min: 5/Max: 25. Facilitator: Meghan Davis

    February 18, 2020, 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM @ Seymour Center

It reduces your mobility; increases your risk of falling; can cause headaches; adversely affects blood pressure and mood; constricts breathing and causes muscle imbalances leading to chronic pain - and can even increase your mortality. The clinic will include brief lectures, educational handouts, and simple yoga poses to reverse postural aging. Students will need to be able to get down on a mat. Instructor: Amritari Martinez, M.A., E-RYT Certified Yoga Wellness Educator and Former State Credentialed Adult Instructor. Ph: 919-904-7657, Website:
