Where does the bus go?
Orange Bus provides transportation in Orange County, Durham County, and parts of Caswell and Alamance counties. You can ride the Hill to Hill public route to Historical Hillsborough, University of North Carolina University campus and medical facility. Route maps are available on our website, Triangle Transit Authority website (refer to route 420) or by contacting us.

Who can ride the bus?
The Hillsborough to Chapel Hill ("Hill to Hill") route and other designated routes are open to the public and do not require qualification.
If you are interested in transportation to the Orange County senior centers or nutrition sites, please contact the closest site to you to arrange transportation.
If you are interested in the elderly/disabled transportation, you must pre-qualify through a certification process on the website or by contacting us.
Medicaid and Work First transportation pre-qualifications are made through the Orange County Department of Social Services prior to contacting us for transportation qualification. Please contact us for further information.
How do I let you know I want to ride?
Public routes, including the Hillsborough to Chapel Hill ("Hill to Hill") route, are open to the public and do not require any prior qualification or advance notice. Just be at the bus stop before or at the time of departure.
If you are interested in the elderly/disabled transportation, you must be qualified first. Once qualified, a simple phone call one working day in advance is needed to arrange transportation. Please contact us for further information.
What are the regulations and rules for riding the Orange Bus?
Eating, drinking and smoking are prohibited on Orange Buses. Animals are prohibited from Orange Bus vehicles with the exception of service animals. Firearms/weapons are prohibited from Orange Bus and any Orange County facility. There are no bathroom facilities on the Orange Bus.
Orange Bus is not responsible for lost items. We will, however, retain items for pick-up if found on the vehicles.
What pass can be used on the Hill to Hill route?
All passes honored are listed on the Triangle Transit Authority website. Passes may be purchasedon line or by contacting TTA at 919-549-9999.
Can my child use the Orange Bus to go home from school?
Orange Bus does not provide transportation to or from Orange County schools. Contact Orange County Board of Education to determine your child’s eligibility for school system transportation
Are bicycle racks available on the bus?
Sorry, bicycle racks are not currently available on the Orange Bus.
Are infant and child car seats available on the bus?
