Brazil - Serving the Nation in Wartime

Current Exhibit

BRAZIL - SERVING THE NATION IN WARTIME

October 30, 2014 - January 18, 2015

Through "Brazil-Serving the Nation in Wartime," Hollie Taylor explores a local family's experience during World War II.  Instead of direct service in the military the artist's father, a young NC State Agriculture graduate, served the nation by working in Brazil's rubber forests.

This remarkable chronicle of art and information examines the responsibilities, challenges and expectations of this young man and his family as they dealt with his sojourn in service and explores the ways in which we serve community and nation.

The exhibition is made possible by a grant from the Friends of the Carrboro Branch Library and the Orange County Arts Commission.

Reception

Staff will host a meet-and-greet with the artist at the OCPL Carrboro Branch on Sunday, December 7, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
