THEN AND NOW

January 24 - March 25, 2015

The OCPL Carrboro Branch presents, THEN AND NOW-Celebrating past and present members of the Carrboro Branch Library's Art Committee. The show will run from January 24 - March 25, 2015.

For the past 18 years the walls of the Carrboro Branch Library and McDougle Middle School have been adorned by the work of more than 1,750 local artists in more than 60 exhibitions. The art shows, supported by the Friends of the Carrboro Branch Library, the Orange County Arts Commission and on occasion, Strowd Roses Inc., have been curated by members of the Carrboro Branch Library's Art Committee, which includes professional artists and library staff.

This exhibition honors those who have worked tirelessly to bring beautiful art works and community issues to our library patrons and the McDougle family. Participating artists include Nancy Whittington, Barbara Keighton, Linda Carmel, Nerys Levy, David Otto, David Taylor, Debbie Suchoff, Louise Francke, Artie Dixon, Alex O'Connor, Alice Levinson, and Gordon Jameson.

The show is made possible by a grant awarded by the Friends of the Carrboro Branch Library and the Orange County Arts Commission.

For more information, please contact Nerys Levy, library art committee chairperson, at rilevy@mindspring.com. The Orange County Public Library is committed to supporting the arts, sharing ideas and strengthening the Orange County community through the regular exhibition of local artwork.
