Don’t Forget Your Flu Shot – It’s Free if you have Medicare The flu season usually runs from November through April. Depending on when you choose to get your flu shot, Medicare may cover a flu shot twice in one calendar year. For example, if you get a shot in January 2020 for the 2019/2020 flu season, you could get another shot in October 2020 for the 2020/2021 flu season.
Original Medicare covers flu shots with no deductible and co-insurance, as long as you receive the service from a participating provider. If you have a Medicare Advantage Plan, you can receive a flu shot from an in-network provider with no co-pay.

Chapel Hill Transit UpdateChapel Hill Transit is very supportive of efforts to provide access to early voting and voting sites within our service area of Chapel Hill/Carrboro. We will continue to work closely with the Towns and Orange County to promote these sites and provide access. In looking at the early voting sites – there are several served by fixed routes and each would be accessible via EZ Rider: - Carrboro Town Hall (CW and J - weekdays and Saturday and Sunday)
- Chapel of the Cross (D on weekdays and Saturday and Sunday - several other routes are a short walk from Franklin and Columbia)
- Seymour Center (HS on weekdays and NS from Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. on weekdays and Saturday and Sunday. Senior Shuttle on weekdays)
- University Place (A route on weekdays and Saturday and Sunday. D route is an option from Franklin Street. Senior Shuttle on weekdays)
We have plenty of capacity for trips to early voting sites on EZ Rider and will staff accordingly for November 3rd. We are planning to create signs for EZ Rider vehicles about early voting sites – we will add similar information to our website. This will support County wide efforts to encourage early voting.
For further information about transportation options in Orange County, contact Alison Smith at 919-717-1853.

- Meaningful
- Appropriately modified to current level of cognitive ability, thereby reducing frustration and stress
If interested, please contact Lisa Meinert (919-245-4251), certified Dementia Care Partner and Activity Professional or Marie Dagger, OTR/L (919-245-4279).
