It’s a party! Join us for dinner, fun, and live entertainment. Our entertainment, Daniel and Matt, play a variety of music from James Taylor, Johnny Cash, Bob Marley, Dave Matthews and much more. No appointments necessary

The Orange County Health Department has switched to walk-in clinics for COVID vaccine distribution. No appointment or pre-registration is necessary.

Orange County Health will hold walk-in clinics every week at the Whitted Building: Monday 2-7 p.m., Wednesday 8 a.m.-1 p.m., Thursday 2-7 p.m., and Friday 8 a.m.-1 p.m. The county will also host pop-up clinics at other locations throughout the county. For a full schedule of pop-up and walk-in vaccine clinics in Orange County, visit www.orangecountync.gov/getyourshot.

In Need of Incontinence Supplies?

Thanks to generous donations, the Department on Aging has a supply of incontinence supplies including: Bed pads, pull up briefs, adult diapers, wipes, and adult booster pads. If you are in need of any of these supplies, we may be able to provide you with up to one pack per month (depending on availability of the items requested). Contact the Aging Helpline (919-968-2087 or Agingtransitions@Orangecountync.gov) to request supplies.

Emergency Broadband Benefit Program

The Emergency Broadband Benefit is an FCC program to help families and households struggling to afford internet service during the COVID-19 pandemic. This new benefit will connect eligible households to jobs, critical healthcare services, virtual classrooms, and so much more.

The Emergency Broadband Benefit will provide a discount of up to $50 per month towards broadband service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers if they contribute more than $10 and less than $50 toward the purchase price.


As of May 12, 2021, eligible households will be able to enroll in the program to receive a monthly discount off the cost of broadband service from an approved provider. Eligible households can enroll through an approved provider or by visiting https://getemergencybroadband.org.

The American Rescue Plan Act that passed Congress earlier this month includes an Economic Incentive Payment (Stimulus Check) of $1400 for most Americans.  If you qualify and you receive Social Security, Disability or Veterans’ benefits, the IRS will deposit your payment to the same account where you receive benefits.  For more information and to check on your payment status, visit www.irs.gov and choose Get My Payment.

Income Tax Filing Deadline Extended to May 17th

The Orange County Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
The Orange County VITA program is making appointments through May 6th for our Drop Off Service.  You’ll complete some paperwork, meet briefly with a preparer and we’ll you’re your documents, then make you an appointment for a week later to pick up your income tax return. 
 
Appointments are available Wednesdays 9am-1pm at the Passmore Center in Hillsborough and Thursdays 9am-4pm at the Seymour Center in Chapel Hill.   Please visit www.orangecountync.gov/ocncvita to schedule your appointment or call us at 919-245-4242.
