Makin' Music Class

Join instructor Mickey Reed in a fun, participatory music-making class. Emphasizing percussion instruments such as drums, tambourines, shakers, and boomwhackers(!?), you will learn how to work together in a group to create music. Even if you're not musically-inclined, this class is perfect for you if you simply love to play around and have a great time with others. Min: 4/Max: 10.

An evening of open performances in which creators get five minutes to express themselves through music, poetry, sketch comedy, prose, rap, improvisation, dance, rants, stand-up comedy – anything goes. Moments to Moments: An Improvisation Class
 
Performing live captivates us because anything can happen. Through theater games, improvisation, movement and good 'ole play, students are freed from the constraints that limit spontaneity, and discover the power of being in the moment. Forming bonds through shared experiences, creating community, and collaborating with others, the class will culminate in a sharing for friends and family. Instructor Danielle Fenton. Art Exhibit: Edward Leak
 
Through the lens of Edward Leak, view his photographic journey, "The Protest," capturing various protests and justice images. Opening reception will be held on Thu, Oct 12. Special Screening: The Closing of a School

Join us for a powerful documentary on the history and significance of Central High School. The film shares the challenges faced by administrators in establishing the school, along with the community support that resulted in creating a dynamic and successful educational experience. Follow the school's journey through integration to the current question of how to properly acknowledge its legacy. Written and directed by Central High alumni, Dr. Iris Chapman.
