Get Help with Filing your 2023 Income Tax Return

The Orange County Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) offers income tax return preparation services at no charge to those with low and moderate incomes. You can meet in-person with a certified volunteer preparer at the Seymour Center in Chapel Hill or the Passmore Center in Hillsborough. Black History Special Film: Till

In honor of Black History Month, Orange County Office of Equity and Inclusion invites all to a special screening of the acclaimed film Till (2022). This powerful movie depicts the true story of a mother’s tireless fight for justice after the brutal murder of her 14-year-old son, Emmett Till. Limited seating. Popcorn and drinks provided. Art Exhibit: Lunar New Year Inspired Art

Ring in the Lunar New Year through art! Presented by the Chinese Cultural Development Association, this collaborative and diverse works exhibition celebrates the talents of our vibrant local Chinese community. Laughter's Power: Comedies of Preston Sturges

Preston Sturges created many of his comedies in the early 40s. His films are full of physical humor and great wit, grounded by serious purpose. Sturges’ films were often satires about contemporary life, the silliness of Hollywood, or our penchant for heroes. You may remember them fondly. Films: The Palm Beach Story (1942); Hail the Conquering Hero (1944).

Puzzle People 

Do you love jigsaw puzzles? Are you ready to swap out the puzzles you've completed for something new? You're in luck! Puzzle People will gather every other month to swap puzzles. There are simple exchange rules to keep things fair, but any jigsaw puzzle (with all of its pieces) is welcomed and can be swapped. LGBTQ+ Winter Film and Potluck

Join us for our monthly dinner and movie series. As we celebrate the month for love February’s feature film is Saving Face. Writer/director Alice Wu, made her feature-length directorial debut with Saving Face; “I suppose if there is one thing I am trying to say with the film, it is that no matter who you are – Asian or black, gay or straight, young or old – that everyone basically wants to love – and that opportunity can start at any point in your life that you want it to.” Co-hosted by Carolina Aging Alliance and Project EngAGE LGBTQ+ Senior Resource Team. See More Wednesdays

An evening of open performances in which creators get five minutes to express themselves through music, poetry, sketch comedy, prose, rap, improvisation, dance, stand–up comedy – anything goes. To perform, sign in up to an hour before show time. Cast, rehearsed, and put on stage in front of a live audience. Leave your cares, woes, and critical judgement at the door.

Learn how art and technology merge to create tools for training, education, and entertainment. Right around the corner from Orange County, there are companies right in the RTP area that make up the gaming industry. Many are artists who create and write code for the games. Heart Health and Hands-on CPR Training

Heart disease is the #1 killer worldwide and stroke ranks second globally. Even when those conditions don’t result in death, they may cause disability and diminish quality of life. Sing along to the songs of Broadway with Julie Pendleton and John Moore.
