Art Exhibit: Lunar New Year Inspired Art

Enjoy our first ever "Lunar New Year Through Art" exhibit! Presented by the Chinese Cultural Development Association, this collaborative and diverse exhibition celebrates the talents of our vibrant local Chinese community. Ukulele Lessons – Beginning

The ukulele is easy to learn and fun to play. Mickey Reed is the self–proclaimed Ukulele Lady of NC and has launched over 500 people up and down the East Coast in ukulele playing. The Chapel Hill Historical Society was founded in 1966 to research and document the history of Chapel Hill and surrounding communities; to encourage and aid in the study of local history; and to provide programs and publications related to the heritage and traditions of the area. Classical Music Listening Sessions

On the second Saturday of each month, we will introduce another musical treasure. The piece of the month might be new to you, or it might be an old friend. The composer might be from hundreds of years ago or from our own time. From time to time, we also add jazz to our listening list! Sessions led by Julie Harris, a composer and music educator. Classic Film Series

Join us in March for the Japanese classic Ugetsu. April will feature Louis Malle's Au Revoir les Enfants. In May we will watch Francesco Rosi's Salvatore Giuliano, a wonderful film about a Sicilian bandit done in a quasi–documentary style. Our classic film series, led by Gail and Michael Corrado, will include viewing the film and open discussion afterwards.

An evening of open performances in which creators get five minutes to express themselves through music, poetry, sketch comedy, prose, rap, improvisation, dance, stand–up comedy – anything goes.
