Climate Action Plan

Orange County's Climate Action Plan focuses on strategies, programs, and policies we need to implement and prioritize to address the climate emergency. The resulting CAP serves as our roadmap to determine how best to reduce emissions and meet climate goals.

Countywide Radio Communications Project

"The purpose of the study is to determine the most economical, efficient, reliable and state-of-the-art method for designing and provisioning new countywide radio communications systems used by local government entities to meet the long term voice communications, paging, and voice interoperability needs of the emergency and non-emergency agencies serving residents, workers, and visitors of Orange County."

Eno-Haw Hazard Mitigation Plan

Alamance, Durham, and Orange County, in coordination with their participating municipal jurisdictions, developed a regional hazard mitigation plan that will cover the three-county “Eno-Haw” area. The Eno-Haw Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan identifies local policies and actions for reducing risk and future losses from natural hazards such as floods, severe storms, wildfires, and winter weather.

Joint Public Safety Training Facility Workgroup

The Joint Public Safety Training Facility Workgroup was formed in January 2017. Members have been appointed by the board of County Commissioners to conduct a study to determine the feasibility of establishing and operating a consolidated fire, law enforcement and emergency medical services training facility in three strategically placed locations within Orange County or one centralized location that can serve the needs of all emergency response agencies and the County's partners. Developing an emergency plan is crucial for all businesses, especially for long term care facilities. This page provides resources for facilities to develop an emergency plan and connect with local government to be better prepared for an emergency. 

Long Term Recovery and Transformation Plan

The Long-Term Recovery Group was established following the COVID-19 pandemic to inform and shape decisions about recovery by bringing together stakeholders of diverse backgrounds and expertise. The Long-Term Recovery Group is made up of smaller working groups, called Recovery Support Functions.
