Tree Giveaway
Who can receive a tree?
If you live in Orange County, you are eligible. Only one submission per household!
What trees are available?
This year, you can pick between one of the following trees:
Eastern Redbud (Cercis canadensis)
Chestnut Oak (Quercus montana)
Make sure you have the right place to plant your tree. You will receive a baby tree, but it will grow!

When will the giveaway happen?
The giveaway is March 20, 2026 and will occur at the Bonnie B Davis Environment and Agricultural Center (1020 US-70, Hillsborough, NC 27278) in Hillsborough from 3 to 5 pm. This event is rain or shine.
How do I get a tree?
Fill out one form no later than March 15. Only one submission per household!
- Redbud seedlings are all gone.
- To get a red oak, fill out this form.
- To get a chestnut oak, fill out this form.
We have limited quantities so cannot guarantee that everyone that signs up will receive a tree.
Can I still get a tree if I did not sign up or if I signed up too late?
Come by between 5:00 and 5:30 pm on March 20 at the Bonnie B Davis Environment and Agricultural Center (1020 US-70, Hillsborough, NC 27278). We always have leftover trees that people do not pick up.
