Orange County Health Department (OCHD) and Orange County Board of Health invite public comment on Proposed Local Rules for Wastewater Treatment and Disposal, 2024.
The current and proposed wastewater treatment and disposal rules are available online at https://www.orangecountync.gov/641/Environmental-Health or in person at Orange County Health Department Environmental Health located at 131 W. Margaret Lane, Hillsborough.
The public is invited and encouraged to provide comments using one of the following options:
- Written comments may be sent either by US postal mail or in person to Orange County Health Department Environmental Health Division located at 131 W. Margaret Lane, Hillsborough, NC 27278.
- Email comments can be sent to vhudson@orangecountync.gov.
- Comments will also be accepted by phone at 919-245-2365.
- A public hearing will be held as part of the Board of Health meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2023 at 7 p.m. The meeting will take place in the Whitted Human Services Building at 300 W Tryon St, Hillsborough, NC 27278 in Room 304.
After the public hearing on Nov. 15, 2023, the Board of Health will discuss and vote to adopt the proposed rule. If the Board of Health adopts the rule, the rule will become effective Jan. 1, 2024.
