Orange County Government will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28-29, to observe the Thanksgiving holidays.
Please note the following exceptions:
Solid Waste: Recycling pick-up scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 28, will be collected on Friday, Nov. 29. Recycling pick-up scheduled for Friday, Nov. 29, will be collected on Saturday, Nov. 30. Please have carts out by 7 a.m. The landfill and related services will be open on Friday, Nov. 29.
Animal Services: Will be closed on Saturday, Nov. 30 in addition to the government holidays. They are normally closed on Sundays. They ask that, as always, people call 9-1-1 if they have an animal-related emergency when they are closed, such as animal bites to humans or exposure to rabies.
Transportation Services: OCPT will operate limited service to the county dialysis center ONLY (Carolina Dialysis Carrboro) on Friday, Nov. 29. Full service will resume on Monday, Dec. 2.
9-1-1 Services: Will be available. Please only call 9-1-1 to report emergencies.
Library: The Orange County Public Library and the Cybrary in Carrboro will be closing early at 5 pm on Wednesday, Nov. 27, and will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday Nov. 29. The Orange County Public Library will be open regular hours during the Thanksgiving weekend. The Cybrary will remain closed on Saturday, November 30th,and will reopen on Monday, Dec. 2.
The county will resume its regular schedule on Monday, Dec. 2.
