[ARCHIVED] Orange County to celebrate American Heart Month

substance abuse advisory 1344X950

The Orange County Department on Aging and the UNC Community Practice Lab invite the public to attend a meet and greet information session on Wednesday, July 9.

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join a new Advisory Committee that will help shape the development of resources and support services for older adults and caregivers impacted by substance use.

We are currently inviting participation from:

  • Adults aged 65+ with lived experience of substance use
  • Caregivers of older adults who have experienced substance use challenges
  • Community members and advocates passionate about improving services and reducing stigma

Stipends will be provided upon completion of the project in recognition of your valuable time and input.

If you are interested in making a difference and being part of this important initiative, we encourage you to join us and help build a more inclusive and supportive community.

This FREE event will take place on Wed, July 9 from 4 – 5:30 pm, at the Seymour Center, 2551 Homestead Rd, Chapel Hill.

If you have questions or need assistance with registration, please contact Shenae McPherson at 919-245-4243 or Lauren Selingo at 919-966-9006 by Wednesday, July 1.
