Orange County Department on Aging and the R Place care partners invite the public to discover the impact of social engagement, how our brains adapt and change; and how we can reclaim our joy.
To learn more, join us for a Memory Café @ R Place on Saturday, April 27 at the Passmore Center from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The Passmore Center is located at 103 Meadowlands Drive in Hillsborough.
R Place is a robust social engagement program based on the Respite for All model that runs on volunteer power! Once a week volunteers, friends living with dementia and their caregivers can recharge, reconnect, and recreate in a safe and judgment-free environment with socialization and mentally stimulating activities. At R Place we all reclaim joy together!
R Place care partners want to share this experience with the greater community and showcase the great work being accomplished by our volunteer run, social model of group respite. This is an intergenerational event for friends, family, children, and grandchildren. Everyone is welcome!
Event Activities Include:
- Live music by Old North State Jammers.
- Woofs and Hoofs horse visit.
- Games for everyone: Balloon volleyball, golf putting practice, table tennis, mini-basketball throw, arts, crafts and more!
- Free lunch will be provided.
The Memory Café @ R Place event is FREE.
Register by Wednesday, April 24. To register, please call 919-245-2015.
Event sponsored by Orange County Department on Aging, Respite for All Foundation and R Place Social Engagement Steering Committee.
