The Orange County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) is seeking proposals from youth-serving organizations interested in applying for JCPC funding for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. Organizations dedicated to juvenile crime prevention and intervention are encouraged to submit proposals by the deadline of March 12, 2025.
The JCPC, in partnership with the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, works to engage community leaders at both the local and state levels to reduce and prevent juvenile crime. Funding is available for programs that support at-risk youth and those involved in the court system, helping them build essential skills, receive support, and find positive pathways for their future.
Eligible programs may include, but are not limited to:
- Interpersonal Skill Building– Enhancing social skills through instruction, modeling, and reinforcement.
- Experiential Skill Building– Hands-on activities designed to develop life and interpersonal skills.
- Parent/Family Skill Building– Sessions focused on parenting techniques and family communication.
- Mentoring– One-on-one adult mentorship to support and guide youth.
- Mediation/Conflict Resolution– Facilitating constructive resolution of disputes.
- Tutoring/Academic Enhancement– Educational support and enrichment activities.
- Teen Court– A diversion program utilizing youth and adult volunteers to offer an alternative to traditional juvenile court proceedings.
- Restitution/Community Service– Opportunities for youth to give back to the community and take responsibility for their actions.
- Temporary Shelter Care– Short-term housing solutions for youth in crisis.
- Substance Abuse Treatment– Inpatient or outpatient services addressing substance use issues.
- Individual and Group Counseling– Therapeutic support for psychological and interpersonal concerns.
- Home-Based Family Counseling– Intensive family-focused interventions conducted at home.
- Juvenile Structured Day Programs– Supervised programs providing structured services to court-involved youth.
