[ARCHIVED] Orange County Announces Bi-annual Job Fair

Orange County, NC- Orange County Department of Social Services (DSS), along with Regional Workforce Development & NC Vocational Rehabilitation, will host the Fall 2019 Job and Trade Fair on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM.

The job fair will provide job seekers with the unique opportunity to connect face-to-face, with more than 85 employers attending in the past. Employers from previous fairs include:

Adecco Staffing

General Electric

Orange County Government

Bojangles

LabCorp

United States Postal Service

Carolina Trucking Company

Lowe’s

Sports Endeavors

FedEx

Mebane Air, Inc.

Premier Home Health Care Services

Chapel Hill- Carrboro City Schools

Durham County Sheriff’s Department

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill


The goal of the event is for employers to leave with several possible candidates for hire. Candidates are encouraged to bring their resume, dress professionally, and do not need to register prior to the event.

Lindsey Shewmaker, Orange County DSS Human Services Manager, states, “This event is an excellent opportunity for employers to meet potential employees with a variety of skill sets, from experienced professionals to talented entry-level individuals.”

The bi-annual job fair is also an opportunity for veterans to meet with a variety of employers in an array of industries and fields.

The event will take place at the University Place Mall at 201 S. Estes Drive, Chapel Hill, NC.
