[ARCHIVED] Affordable Housing Advisory Board to hold meeting In southern Orange County

Interested in affordable housing? To share its work and ensure that all communities throughout Orange County have an opportunity to provide input on affordable housing issues, needs and priorities, the County’s Affordable Housing Advisory Board (AHAB) will hold its next monthly meeting in southern Orange County.  The public is encouraged to attend.  This is an opportune time to provide input, suggestions and concerns about this very important issue in our County.

The meeting with be held on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 6 p.m. at the Chapel Hill Public Library, Room A, 100 Library Drive in Chapel Hill.

The Orange County Affordable Housing Advisory Board was established in 2001 and members are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners.  The charge of the Advisory Board is to advise the Commissioners regarding prioritizing housing needs; assessing project proposals; publicizing the county’s housing objectives; monitoring the progress of local housing programs; exploring new funding opportunities; and increasing the community’s awareness of and commitment to producing attractive affordable housing.
