On November 5, 2020, the Orange County Board of Commissioners voted to begin the process of seeking State approval to change which of North Carolina’s Local Management Entity/Managed Care Organizations (LME/MCOs) has responsibility for managing behavioral health and intellectual/developmental disability (I/DD) services for Orange County residents who are insured by Medicaid or who have no health insurance.  The County is seeking to transition that responsibility from Cardinal Innovations Healthcare to Alliance Health effective January 1, 2022.

As part of the County’s community outreach efforts, a Virtual Town Hall is scheduled for Wednesday, May 12, 2021, starting at 6 p.m. This Town Hall is intended to provide a forum for residents to ask questions and share feedback about the realignment process. Leadership from the County, Alliance Health and Cardinal Innovations will participate in this discussion.

To attend the Virtual Town Hall meeting, please register at https://orangecountync.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJwud-yopjwrG9KoDFny3YjhfF9w0tJurr_N.  After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

Additional information about the realignment process, including plan documents and frequently asked questions, are available on the County’s website at http://orangecountync.gov/2634/LMEMCO-Disengagement.
