Due to ongoing inclement weather and widespread power outages caused by numerous downed trees and power lines, Orange County will suspend all in-person services at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 3.
Staff will be available remotely for non-essential services. Public-facing facilities like the library, planning department and tax offices will be closed for in-person services, but staff can be reached via phone and/or email.
Residents are encouraged to remain at home and avoid unnecessary travel while crews restore power and clear debris from roadways.
The COVID testing site in Chapel Hill will operate its normal hours, closing at 3 p.m. today. The site in Hillsborough will be closed.
Appointments are required. Call (919) 913-8088 to schedule an appointment.
