Uniform Commercial Codes (UCC)

Purpose

The Uniform Commercial Code Section operates under Chapter 25, Article 9 of the North Carolina General Statutes to provide a method of giving notice of a security interest in real property to interested third parties. Specifically, items qualifying as "fixture filings" may have associated liens associated with real property.

Additional Information

Typically, UCCs and associated liens are handled by legal professionals and lending institutions. For more information on what qualifies under the Uniform Commerical Code, see the Secretary of State's UCC website.
