2019 Direct Care Worker Awards

Orange County Department on Aging and the Senior Health Advocacy and Resource Partners of Orange County (SHARP) honored thirty-one individuals for their outstanding service in long-term care on May 9 during the SHARP Award ceremony.

Commissioner Renee Price represented the Board of Orange County Commissioners and recognized all fifty-six nominees including seven individuals who received the following 2019 SHARP Direct Care Worker awards:

Client Impact Award: Pearl McGill and Christina Rich 

Going the Extra Mile Award: Chastity Bullock-Sassone and Tom Riley

Leadership Award: Lynette Moore and Melvin Brodie

Longevity Award: Patricia Miller

Rising Star Award: Evelyn Zacatenco-Trejo and Mariah Littlejohn

Direct Care Worker of the Year: Rodah Samuel

About the Event

This event recognizes direct care workers (nurse aides, personal care aides, companion caregivers, etc.) who served clients in Orange County within the past year, making a difference in their clients’ lives on a daily basis and in the community.
