Pay & View Property Tax Bills

Orange County offers several safe and easy ways to pay your property tax bill. You can pay online, by phone, by mail, at a drop box, or in person. You can also make smaller payments over time if you need to.

This page explains your payment options and links you to the official tools to view and pay your bill.

Ways to Pay Your Property Taxes

Pay Online

The fastest way to pay is online through our official payment portal:

•  Pay property taxes online at pay.orangecountync.gov (opens in a new tab) 
• You can also use the MyOrangeCountyNC app to view bills, make one-time payments, or schedule a future payment date.

Online payments are processed by our secure partner. Convenience fees may apply for card payments.

View or Print Your Bill

You can look up your property tax bill and print a copy using our bill search website:

 Go to the Property Tax Bill Search website (opens in a new tab) 

You can search by name, address, or parcel number and see current and recent tax bills.

Pay by Phone

You may pay your bill by phone using a credit or debit card:

Pay by Mail

You may mail a check or money order. Please do not mail cash.

Make your check or money order payable to Orange County Tax Collector and mail to:

Pay Using the Drop Box

A secure drop box is available outside the Gateway Center for non-cash payments.

Please place checks or money orders in an envelope. Do not leave cash in the drop box.

Pay in Person

You may pay in person at the Tax Office during regular business hours.

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. (except County holidays)

We accept cash, checks, money orders, and most major credit and debit cards. Apple Pay and Google Pay are also accepted at the counter. Card payments may include a convenience fee.

Make Smaller Payments Over Time

Payment Coupon Option

For tax bills of $100 or more, you may be able to pay in five smaller monthly payments using payment coupons included with your bill.

• Available for tax bills totaling $100 or more.
• The total amount due is divided into five equal payments.
• Payments are due on the last day of each month, usually from August through December.
• Each bill includes five coupons showing the amount due for each month.

To use this option, you may be asked to complete a brief partial payment agreement form. Follow the instructions included with your bill or contact the Tax Office if you have questions.

Other Payment Assistance Options

If you need more flexible options to help you pay your real or personal property taxes, you may qualify for:

• Pre-payment Program – pay toward an estimated bill before the bill is created.
• Bank Draft Program – have monthly payments drafted from your bank account.
• Post-Billing Payment Plan – set up a payment plan after the bill is issued so the bill is paid before it becomes delinquent.

EMS Ambulance Bills

The Revenue & Collections Division also bills and collects for ambulance services and some other Emergency Services fees.

Important Scam Warning

You should only make payments to Orange County Tax Administration using the methods listed on this page. We send official tax bills and ambulance bills by mail and direct you to our official payment websites and phone numbers.

If you receive a request to pay through a different website, gift cards, or another unusual method, it may be a scam. Do not send money. Contact us to confirm before paying.
