Who We Are
The Landlord Assistance Program is administered by the Orange County Housing Department in North Carolina. It is overseen locally by the Housing Access Coordinator, who serves as the primary point of contact and outreach for all landlord inquiries. The program is designed to engage landlords across Orange County and promote landlord participation in offering housing to those in need of affordable housing throughout the county.
How We Help
The program supports landlords in multiple ways, offering a $1,000 signing bonus for new first-time landlords leasing through Orange County Housing Programs and a $500 referral incentive when an existing participant refers another landlord who signs a lease. It also provides access to a risk mitigation fund to reimburse eligible tenant-related damages, reducing property owner exposure. Rent subsidy payments go directly to landlords, ensuring prompt and reliable income, and the program includes ongoing landlord outreach, workshops, and responsive support to build confidence and foster sustained participation.
